Your business type

When you sign up, you pick the kind of business you run: Bakery & café, Barbershop & salon, Home services or Other local business. It sets a few starting points so Chiffchaff fits how you talk about your work.

What it changes

• Wording: whether the app and your requests talk about a visit, an appointment or a job.
• Reply style: how drafts sound before you've added your own replies. Once you add them in Reply voice, drafts follow your words instead. See Edit your reply voice.
• Your Google profile score: which items count most, and which kind of booking or order link is expected. See Profile score and consistency check.
• The monthly Google post: drafts fit your kind of business.

What it doesn't change

The rules are the same for every business. Replies never offer refunds or freebies in public, every customer gets the same review link, and nobody is asked for a Yelp review, whatever your type. See How we ask for reviews.

Your business type is shown on Settings, with the wording it uses and where your customers are asked for a review. If you picked the wrong one, email support@getblythe.com and we'll change it for you.
