Connect your Google Business Profile

Chiffchaff reads your Google reviews and keeps your listing current through your Google Business Profile. You connect it once.

Connect

1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
2. On the Google Business Profile card, click Connect Google.
3. Sign in with the Google account that manages your listing and allow access.

You come back to your dashboard with a note that Google is connected. You can also connect from the Listing page, or during sign-up.

Google covers the whole business, so the owner, or a manager with every location, connects it and adds each location's place ID.

Match each location to Google

Reviews are matched to your locations by each location's Google place ID. Open Locations, pick a location and paste its place ID into the Google place ID field. You can find it with Google's Place ID Finder, and you can paste the ID or a link that contains it. A location needs a place ID before you can ask customers for Google reviews.

New reviews are checked about every 15 minutes.

If Google needs you to reconnect

Sometimes Google stops accepting the connection, for example after a password change. We check it every hour. When that happens, you'll see Google needs you to reconnect on your dashboard, the Listing page and Settings → Integrations, and owners and managers get an email. New reviews and listing changes are on hold until you click Reconnect Google and sign in again. It takes about a minute. See When a connection stops working.

Reviews aren't showing up

• Check that Settings → Integrations says Connected, not Needs reconnecting.
• Check that the location has its Google place ID.
• Give it a little time. Google can take a while to pass a new review along.
