Compare with nearby businesses

See how your rating and review count on Google compare with a few businesses near you. Pick them once, and Chiffchaff reads their public numbers each week.

This is switched on once our lawyer has checked Google's terms for keeping these numbers. Until then the Listing page says it isn't available yet and the dashboard card is hidden. See What's switched on today.

How many you can compare

• Solo: not included.
• Duo: 1 nearby business.
• Crew: up to 3.
• Group: up to 3 for each location.

The free trial has Crew's 3. To compare plans, see Plans and billing.

Pick businesses

Owners and managers pick them in the Competitors section of the Listing page. Your Google profile needs to be connected and the location needs its Google place ID. See Connect your Google Business Profile.

1. Click Suggest nearby businesses to see the nearest ones listed on Google in the same category as you.
2. Or type a name under Or find one by name. Adding the town helps.
3. Click Add next to the ones you want. Remove takes one off.

With more than one location, each location has its own list.

Where you see the comparison

• Your dashboard has a You vs nearby card with each business's rating, total reviews and new reviews in the last 30 days next to yours. A dash means we don't have enough weeks yet.
• Your monthly recap shows the same comparison. See Your monthly recap.

Numbers are updated once a week.

What we read

Only the public rating and review count Google shows for each business. We keep them for 30 days, never read their reviews and never contact their customers.

If you move to a plan that compares fewer businesses, the ones over the limit stay on your list marked Not compared on your current plan.
