Review requests
Send requests automatically with Zapier
Connect the tools you already use, so a review request goes out when a sale, job or appointment finishes.
With Zapier, a finished sale, job or appointment in another tool can send a review request on its own. Square, Jobber, Housecall Pro, Vagaro, Mindbody, QuickBooks and Shopify all work with Zapier.
Set it up
- In Chiffchaff, go to Settings → Integrations. API keys cover the whole business, so the owner, or a manager with every location, makes them.
- On the Zapier card, give the key a name and click Create API key.
- Copy the key straight away. You won't see it again.
- In Zapier, make a Zap that starts when a sale, job or appointment finishes in your tool, and add the Chiffchaff action Create Review Request.
- Paste your key when Zapier asks you to connect Chiffchaff, then match the customer's name, email and mobile number, the location, and an event ID such as the job number.
- Optionally, match Served By to the name of the person who served the customer, for your staff review stats. The customer never sees it.
What happens next
- Each request follows the usual rules: once every 90 days, your sending hours, and so on. See Ask a customer for a review.
- Email is tried first. A text goes only when there's no email and the customer has already agreed to texts in Chiffchaff. Zapier never marks anyone as agreeing.
- The event ID stops the same job or visit being asked about twice.
- If a customer can't be asked, the Zap stops quietly for that run instead of failing.
- Requests from Zapier show via Zapier on the Requests page.
Revoke a key
If you stop using a Zap, or a key may have been seen by someone else, click Revoke next to it in Settings → Integrations. Anything using that key stops working straight away.
Zapier can't yet start a Zap from Chiffchaff, for example when a new review arrives.
